Attendance Allowance

Could you or a loved one be eligible?

Attendance Allowance is for people over State Pension age who need help or supervision because of a health condition or disability. The claim form is long and the questions are personal — most people undersell their needs without realising. We ask the questions and put it into words properly, so nothing important gets left out.

How it works

Friendly help from first chat to final check

01

Tell us about daily life

A friendly adviser asks clear, simple questions on the phone — the things that are hard, the things that take longer, how days differ. You just talk. We write.

02

We prepare the claim

We fill in the whole form for you — the wording, the detail, the DWP's criteria — so you never face the paperwork yourself.

03

A person checks it

A trained person reviews every answer before submission, reads it back to you, and it only goes to the DWP once you're happy and say yes.

No win, no fee

Most people see £345–£685 land in their bank before we take a penny

Attendance Allowance pays £76.70 a week at the lower rate or £114.60 at the higher rate (2026/27), and payment is backdated to the date your claim started. The DWP currently clears most claims in around 4–6 weeks, so the first payment that lands in your bank typically includes 4–6 weeks of back pay — usually somewhere between £345 and £685 depending on the rate you are awarded.

Our £240 fee (including VAT) is only taken after that money reaches your account. If your claim is unsuccessful, you pay us nothing. And you can always apply directly to the DWP yourself for free.

Common questions

Clear answers, without pressure

Are you part of the government?

No. Burton Paperwork is an independent paid service and is not affiliated with the DWP.

Can I apply for free?

Yes. Attendance Allowance applications are free through the DWP. Our £240 fee including VAT is for guided preparation and a human check, and is only payable if the claim succeeds.

Do savings affect a claim?

No. Attendance Allowance is not means-tested, so income and savings do not affect the award.
